Tony R. Goodbar, M.D.
Dr. Goodbar is a board certified physician in both Adult and Adolescent Psychiatry . After graduating from Erskine College in 1981 and the Medical University of South Carolina in 1985, he completed his Internship and Residency in both General and Child Psychiatry in 1990. He served as both President of the Medical Staff and Adolescent Program Medical Service Director at Charter Hospital of Greenville while originating Piedmont Psychiatric Services for private practice. With over 20 years experience, his primary focus is on psychiatric evaluation and medication management specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of ADHD, mood and anxiety disorders in children and adolescents as well as adults.

Jeffrey K. Smith, M.D.
Dr. Smith received his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Alabama. He completed his psychiatric residency at the William S. Hall Psychiatric Institute in Columbia, South Carolina. Dr. Smith has been in private practice in upstate South Carolina since 1990, and his areas of interest include Major Depression, Bipolar Disorder, Anxiety Disorders, Adult ADHD, Psychotic Disorders, and Geriatrics.

Joseph Friddle, PA-C
Joseph is a licensed Physician Assistant who works in conjunction with Dr’s Goodbar and Smith. He specializes in psychiatric diagnosis and treatment of mood and anxiety disorder, psychotic disorders and Adult ADHD. His focus is primarily on psychiatric evaluation and medication management. In 2004 he received an Associate of Science from Young Harris College and in 2007 a B.S in Science at the College of Charleston. Graduating on the Dean’s List from the Medical University of Charleston, he received his Masters Of Science in 2009.

Michael D. Smith, M.A., LPC
Mike is a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 35 years experience and training in both private and inpatient settings. He has an expansive clinical background from psychological testing, consulting, teaching to supervision. He specializes in individual therapy for mood and anxiety disorders, grief/loss issues, anger/stress management, and occupational injuries. He received a BA degree from Gardner-Webb College and a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology at Appalachian State University In 1999 he was awarded the designation of 'Certified Diplomate in Psychotherapy' by the American Psychotherapy Association.

Albert C. Bennett, M.A., LPC
Al, a Licensed Professional Counselor, earned his Bachelor's degree from Appalachian State University and his Master's from East Tennessee State University. For the past 25 years, he has provided specialized evaluation and therapy to adults, adolescents and children struggling with depression/Bipolar disorders, OCD/anxiety, life adjustments (divorce , parenthood), ADHD, and medical conditions such as chronic pain. He has also provided services in various medical, judicial, and educational settings and for Michelin North America.

James Harbin, M.Ed., LPC
Jim received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from The University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill and a Masters in Education at Clemson University. A Licensed Professional Counselor, he combines traditional therapy with a Christian influence which has developed a strong faith based referral relationship from both church and clergy in the surrounding communities. With over 28 years experience in individual, family and marital counseling, his specialties include mood/anxiety disorders, grief/loss issues, anger/stress management and adult sexual abuse.

Carol Mitchell, MSN,LPC
Carol is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Certified Sex Therapist and a Diplomate with the American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors and Therapists. Still a licensed R. N., she earned her B.S in Nursing from Clemson University and her Masters of Nursing from The Medical College of Georgia. During the past 30 years, she has had extensive experience in medical, residential and educational settings, but now her primary focus is on private practice. Her specialty areas are in individual and marital counseling for mood and anxiety disorders, grief/loss issues, anger/stress management, gender identity issues and sex therapy.

Tanya C. Hargrove, M.A., LPC
Graduating with a B.A. in Psychology from Baylor University and a Master’s of Arts in Marriage and Family Counseling, Tanya is a Licensed Professional Counselor providing Individual and family therapy services to children, adolescents and adults. She also has advanced training in play therapy. For over 12 years, she’s worked in outpatient, inpatient and acute residential treatment facilities, establishing a close relationship with both the school system and related community agencies. She specializes in treating mood, anxiety, personality, and adjustment disorders, ADHD and grief counseling.

Mary Shults, MSW,LISW-CP
With over 30 years of advanced training and experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings, Mary is a Licensed Independent Social Worker. She received her B.A in Sociology from Carson-Newman and a Masters of Social Work from the University of South Carolina. Also a Board Certified Diplomat in Clinical Social Work, she has served as a board member and President to the Society of Clinical Social work. Providing comprehensive individual and marital therapy, she specializes in mood, anxiety/personality disorders, grief/loss issues, anger/stress management and emotional/sexual abuse.
